Soundbites are a platform for professionals and entrepreneurs who are leading in their field. Speakers are innovators and inspiring actors working in new and traditional sectors, outside of academia. The Soundbite gives the audience an insight into how their organisation contributes to sustainable and inclusive prosperity.
Speakers in this Soundbite series lead enterprises, organizations and initiatives employing innovative strategies and technologies to provoke change in the service of prosperity. The interventions they pursue seek to instigate ambitious, large-scale, sustained social impact. Thought leaders in this series will discuss the problems that inspire them, the innovations and interventions they are involved with, as well as the challenges, opportunities, potential and limitations they face in their pursuit of prosperity.

Averting The Zombie Apocalypse: How planning is killing us and how prototyping will save us
Zaid spent the last 20 years developing responses to complex social challenges around the world for governments, philanthropists and corporations. He has worked on issues such as agriculture, artificial intelligence, climate change, education, energy, financial systems, malnutrition, mental health, security, sustainable development, and youth issues.
He is author of The Social Labs Revolution: A New Approach To Solving Our Most Complex Challenges (Berret-Koehler, 2014) and he is co-founder of 10 in 10, whose mission is to tackle ten global challenges in ten years.

Melissa Ablett

Stimulating Innovation for Prosperity
CIC Rotterdam is now home to over 230 innovative startups, investors, and corporates in 10.000 square meters of space. Prior to CIC,Melissa worked for the State of Massachusetts’ leading innovation policy agency, the Mass Tech Collaborative’s John Adams Innovation Institute. There, Melissa developed public-private initiatives to stimulate the state’s tech sector and support entrepreneurship.

Applying the rating agency model to financial crime
Having started her career in political and security risks in London, Sihem Mouelhi has since garnered nearly a decade of experience working in compliance and financial crime risk management across Europe. During her time in the industry she has held positions at leading financial institutions and consultancy firms, including management roles at Citigroup, Ernst and Young, and The Capital Markets Company, before joining Elucidate as Chief Operating Officer. In addition to her work in the industry, Sihem graduated from the University of Montreal with a Bachelor’s in Political Science, and a Master’s in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics.

OLIO's journey from MVP to now
Anne Charlotte Mornington pursued a BA Hons in Fine Art and an MSc in Management where she wrote her thesis on the topic of food waste. She was introduced to OLIO a few months after inception and has been part of the team ever since. Her focus is on international expansion and business development. After instigating OLIO communities in Sweden, California and Mexico, she now manages regional team members while working on monetisation.
